I’m baaaaccckkk! Because I have already read so much this year I have decided to break my favorite annual post (my reading list) into a monthly series. Here is month two! Once just wasn’t enough, to start of my February reading I reread all of the ACOTAR books as soon as I finished them. Having already read them I was able to speed read. I convinced my little sister to read them so I could have someone to talk about them with so I reread them along with her so we could fangirl together. Hunkiedorië Review: Let me just say, this book WRECKED me, but up until the end I loved every page. Crying to the point that I actually couldn’t finish the book. Since I had already read book one not knowing this prequel existed I knew enough of what happened that I felt confident ending this book early, because my over emotional/broken hearted self couldn’t bear to read on. However, I would 100% recommend that readers read this collection of prequel novellas prior to starting the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Mass.

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass Series, Book 2)

Hunkiedorië Review: This series has me hooked. Originally I read this book prior to the prequel, and although I don’t feel as though I missed out because of it since the prequel was published later, I would recommend reading the Assassins Blade first if you can. You will get a little more insight to what makes Celaena who she is and what she has battled to get this far, especially romantically. I absolutely love Celaena’s strength and sass, after all you can’t spell assassin without sass! This book is a great start to a stellar series.

Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass Series, Book 3)

Hunkiedorië Review: This was another heartbreaker, I just want my girl Celaena to catch a break. Her complicated past and mysterious destiny start to take shape in this book catapulting readers towards what is sure to be a bumpy ride as fate wrestles the reigns from Calaena whether she is ready or not.

Heir of Fire (Throne of Glass Series, Book 4)

Hunkiedorië Review: After having my mind blown at the end of Crown of Midnight I could not wait to see what “Celaena” was going to get up to across the sea. It looks like she has finally met her match, someone to whoop her back into shape and put an end to her little pity party, and I am here for the her new fine feathered friend!

Queen of Shadow (Throne of Glass Series, Book 5)

Hunkiedorië Review: This book was exciting and so satisfying. SJM brings the band together in an exciting and heartwarming way, uniting family, friends and romantic interests. Some of my favorite moments from the series are in this book, especially Rowan and Arobynn’s body oil interaction! I don’t really love the witches story line in these early books but they are there for a reason and it pays off in the end.

Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass Series, Book 6)

Hunkiedorië Review: Okay two words Aelin and pirates! I could reread Aelin returning to Skull’s bay and antagonizing Rolf over and over again. Empire of Storms is probably my favorite book in the series. This book is packed with monsters, adventure and a sprinkle of romance to top it all off. There really isn’t much more a girl can ask for.

Tower of Dawn (Throne of Glass Series, Book 7)

Hunkiedorië Review: Does Chaol (who I always read as Carol, I can’t help it) deserve his own book, hell no. He is an ass that deserves to stay buried in the ruble of the glass castle. I know this is harsh but that is how I feel about this little bitch boi. Did I hate that this book needed to exist? Yes. Did I end up liking it? Also yes, grudgingly, it did do some great things for the series and the overall plot. Did it come at the worst time? Yes! I mean what the heck is going to happen to Aelin, we can’t just leave our girl hanging like that while we follow Chaol around through his story. It is worth the read, you can’t skip this story as much as you may want to, it is important and does redeem Chaol a bit.

Hunkiedorië Review: Even though the series was eight books they went by too quickly. I know all good things must come to an end and SJM did a beautiful job bringing it all to a close. That being said I really could have done with out pouty Aedion ruining things with Lysandra, what a waste, I was so frustrated reading through that storyline. Also screw Aelin having to give up the majority of her power, I hate when this happens in media. This was one of the things that really makes Aelin who she is and I loved the badassery that came along with this part of her that I felt it really was a shame that SJM went the sacrifice route. Call me greedy but I want it all.

Hunkiedorië Review: How much did I love this book? Enough to stay up all night on a Saturday reading it all the way through only to snore through my facial appointment the next day, much to my esthetician’s amusement. I loved the modern day setting of these books. Combining magic and fantasy elements with modern day technology and society was something that I didn’t know I needed in my life but now I can’t imagine living without! SJM’s writing gets better and better with each series and I can’t wait to see what the Crescent City series has in store for readers.

House of Sky and Breath (Crescent City Series, Book 2)

Hunkiedorië Review: Just when I thought her books couldn’t get better SJM hits us with HOSAB and good lord, I am still trying to pick my jaw off the floor. I don’t want to say much as this book is so new and I don’t want to spoil anything just know that you need to read this.

Hunkiedorië Review: After falling in love with the Netflix adaptation of this book I couldn’t wait to dive into reading the Grishaverse books, and I hate to say I was really disappointed. Maybe it was because I had been reading all these strong female characters in Sarah J. Maas’s books, or maybe it was the narrator when I listened to the audio book on my morning commute but I could not get on team Alina. This character felt winey and immature throughout the whole series. And on top of that I don’t see what appeal some readers find in the Darkling. In the show I get it Ben Barnes is a total hottie, but the way the character is written doesn’t really do it for me. I hate to say it but I would not recommend this book, but once I start something I need to see it through to the finish so I pushed myself through the next two books.

Hunkiedorië Review: Still unimpressed, but now on top of it Mal is just as annoying as Alina, grow up both of you!

Hunkiedorië Review: Finally made it through the trilogy and good riddance Grishaverse…for now. I have already bought the Six of Crows Duology, which I hear is better, but I will need a break from Bardugo characters for a while.
