My sister and I are both passionate about breakfast food and love a good diner adventure. Since she workes retail it can be hard to find time for us to get together and go out for a brunch adventure but we finally found a Saturday where we could get together and try a new spot. The day we ventured out for our brunch adventure there was one of my beloved Minnesota heavy and warm spring snows.

I drove across town to south Minneapolis to pick up my sister and take her out for breakfast. Braving the treacherous roads and other insane drivers thinking they could handle the ridiculous road conditions.  I had spent the morning combing through my list of restaurants I want to try to find the perfect spot for our morning meal and landed on Eggy’s Diner in Minneapolis.

Eggy’s is located in the LPM Apartment buildings right next to Lakes & Legends, another spot I have wanted to try for years. Street parking was fairly easy to find and the area is very walkable, there were dozens of people out walking their dogs or brunch hopping.

The moment my sister Zoë and I stepped through the doors we knew we had made the right decision in choosing Eggy’s. The sunny little dinner greeted us with mouthwatering smells of bacon, eggs, and coffee; everything a hungry girl could wish for. The low buzz of happy conversations from the groups of fellow brunch-goers filled the room and set the mood for a cheerful morning.

Zoë immediately ordered a coffee and I was thrilled to when I found that there were nondairy chai tea latte options, and ordered a soy chai (my favorite food in the whole world). Within minutes we had our drinks in hand as we scanned the menu trying to choose from their many scrumptious options. Zoë zeroed in on their crepes, no surprise there. Crepes are her favorite and I checked their menu prior to our arrival to make sure this was an option for my little adventure buddy. I ordered a classic American breakfast (they call it two eggs with meat). Two eggs with breakfast potatoes, pancakes and sausage links-yum! I will admit that the crunchy Nutella french toast and cinnamon roll pancakes were calling to me but I decided to avoid a sugar overload that early on a day when I had several plans.

Our food came out fast and hot and every bite was delicious. We ate to the point of bursting and Zoë’s cup never went dry throughout the entire meal. Overall we had great service and a wonderful meal. We have decided that we can’t wait to take our whole family there and try out more of their fabulous menu options.
