Bring On The Brunch : Icehouse

A few months ago after visiting Icehouse for dinner, I couldn’t wait to go back again to try out their amazing brunch menu. I finally got my chance last weekend when my friend Ashley asked where our group should go for brunch. I couldn’t text back fast enough. My friends usually are pretty trusting when I suggest a new place for us to try and I was very excited to introduce them to such a fantastic place.

When we all met in front of the restaurant late Sunday morning I was practically bouncing up and down on the sidewalk. As we strolled up to the tiny hosts stand and gave our name we were greeted by a group of warm smiles. The staff at Icehouse is always on top of their game they are friendly and knowledgeable ensuring a good time anytime you walk through their doors.

We were whisked away to our table which was at a killer spot right in the corner of the main room with a perfect view of the stage. Our server, I believe his name was Nick, was so patient with our table full of gals in brunch mode. We tried the Bacon Bloody Mary Garnished with a Mini Donut, the Love Will Keep Us Together, the Bloody Lisa and the Escape Velocity-my personal favorite, consisting of Caramel Rum, Cold Brew Coffee and Vanilla Cream YUM! A table full of bloodies and mimosas later we were in full gab mode. Nick handled us perfectly knowing exactly when to show up and when to let us be. After allowing us to look over our menus for a while as we enjoyed our drinks and the amazing live music being performed on the stage just in front of our table, Nick swooped in to take our food orders and bring the second round of drinks.

Ashley and Anna ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict (no surprise there, it’s one of Ashley’s go tos). Danielle ordered the Brisket Hash which looked mouth-wateringly delicious. I ordered the Steak Sandwich (recommended by our server) and Kelsey got the “P & E” Sandwich. Our server did warn us it would be a wait since the place was so packed that day. It usually is a full house and I had anticipated a wait, we were having such a good time we barely noticed how long it took for our food.

It’s always so fun going out with those girls because everyone is so excited to share their food and drinks so everyone else at the table can enjoy a little bit of everything. I still think my Escape Velocity and Steak Sandwich were the best things at the table.

I could have spent all afternoon at Icehouse and I can’t wait to go back. I always have such a great time and have yet to have a less than stellar bite/sip. Thank you to the exceptional staff at Icehouse who always make the time spent there the best it could possibly be.
