For me, this year’s #HunkiedorieHarvestParty was all about the details, like my faux chalkboard menu. Last year I printed out a menu for each place setting which ended up being an issue when the wind decided to blow them all over. Although they were beautiful I wanted to do something a little different this year.
I decided to make a faux chalkboard sign, similar to those you see in bistros. I headed to my local Goodwill knowing that I needed something large and inexpensive. After a few visits to the Goodwills in my area I finally found something perfect. A large rectangular piece of framed art was just the ticket, I loved the frame and knew that not having to paint that portion would save me time and money in the long run.
I tapped off the frame with painters tape and was able to paint over the art with chalkboard spray paint, applying it in several thin layers allowing time to dry in between each layer. After about 5 layers I let my chalkboard sit and dry over night.
I hate the feel of chalk so I skipped over writing my menu and decided to Cricut it instead. My letters came out crisp and consistent that way and I loved every thing about the finished product. For step by step instructions on how to use your Cricut for vinyl projects like this check out my Personalized Water Bottle post.
Because the sign was so large my minion was able to build a T-shaped steak that we stuck into the ground to prop up the sign. We also draped some twinkle lights around the frame to keep it lit throughout the evening.

I am no longer sure where you’re getting your info, but great topic. I must spend some time finding out much more or understanding more. Thank you for fantastic info I used to be looking for this info for my mission.

You really make it appear so easy together with your presentation however I find this topic to be really something which I believe I would never understand. It sort of feels too complicated and extremely large for me. I am having a look forward for your next submit, I will attempt to get the hold of it!
