This January, my North girls had a housewarming party at Samantha’s new house. A couple glasses of wine into the evening Cassie (Cassie at Home) mentioned that she was wanting to start doing photography more seriously. In that instant, a lightbulb flicked on in my brain and I blurted out that I wanted to have a spring event where she could photograph the day and help me amp up the visuals on my blog. Cass was thrilled with the idea and the rest of the group seemed excited for this event…whatever it was.
A few weeks later as I began to brainstorm, what would this event be? I have been going through a shrimp phase. Okay, so I want to have shrimp, what goes with shrimp? I always see them in bloody marys, and my girls love a good bloody. Perfect! I will have a brunch. I pitched the idea to my parents (I would need to use their space) at our weekly family dinner. They thought it was a cute idea and a perfect way to work in the stacks of floral china I have been collecting from the Goodwill.
While bouncing ideas back and forth over our dessert, Reba had a brilliant idea. My fall dinner was sponsored by the Goodwill, why not team up with them again for my Spring brunch? Better yet why not focus my efforts towards a good cause like Madi Apparel. I have worked with Madi Apparel in the past and immediately fell in love with their products and mission.Madi Apparel is dedicated to positively impacting all aspects of the multi-billion intimates industry. The many items you can choose from at Madi Apparel are made right here in the United States! By doing this Madi Apparel creates new and fair jobs in our community while reducing their carbon footprint by avoiding importing their product. At a time where it is easy for companies to save a buck by outsourcing their labor to avoid the costs that come along with fair wages and quality work environments, Madi Apparel can proudly say that they are constantly putting their best foot forward when it comes to their employees, their community and their mission.
For every item you buy from Madi Apparel a panty of equal quality is donated to a woman in need. Donations are distributed to domestic violence shelters, disaster relief, rape shelters, and homeless shelters. Every time you buy something for yourself or a friend you are helping a woman out there on her road to recovery. Underwear is one of the most under donated items of clothing. MADI was founded upon the principles of American manufacturing, self-sustaining fabrics/packaging, and global impact through underwear donations.
I knew a cause like this would be something the girls could really get excited about and support. As I got closer to the date I found out that Madi Apparel will be coming to Minnesota! Madi Apparel will soon be sold in Von Maur stores. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Von Maur, it is an amazing national department store that still features many of the services that have unfortunately been left behind by other big names. Von Maur is very customer-focused still offering amazing services like alterations and gift-wrapping in store, something that I think all stores should bring back. I am so excited for this new partnership and the widespread awareness for Madi Apparel that is sure to follow.
Now my party was really starting to form in my mind. A mother/family brunch that would raise awareness and hopefully some money for Madi Apparel. To see just how I put together the #BEEuTEAfulBrunch and raising awareness for the amazing mission that Madi Apparel has taken on check out my #BEEuTEAfulBrunch Planning post.
My party ended up being a huge success and my friends and I were able to raise close to $300 for Madi Apparel. I learned so much while planning this brunch I can’t wait to make next year’s gathering even better.
