In honor of my friend Megan’s engagement party this weekend I thought I would share the little engagement gift I made for her a few weeks ago. With a few simple items from the good will and a little elbow grease and Cricut crafting I ended up with the perfect gift to celebrate this HUGE event in my besties life.
I bought a tray at my local Goodwill for about four dollars. I used a spray primer to coat the entire thing in a thin layer to help the paint stick. Next I painted the edges with a copper spray paint. Let paint dry for about 2 hours before covering with painters tape. Spray center section with chalkboard paint and allow to dry for 4 hours before writing on surface. I also used http://www.markandgraham.com to design a free monogram and then cut it out on gold glitter iron on vinyl with my Cricut Explore. I did use an iron to make sure it really stuck on to the tray. I used a chalk marker to write a little message and made sure to include a pack of her own markers in her gift to use later.
I topped the tray off with etched champagne glasses (I’ll post that project here later), as well as a crystal ring holder from the goodwill and a wedding planning book and some champagne.
I am a little obsessed with how the whole thing turned out and can’t wait to make more trays in the future!
